So, does the company care what the staff has to say?
Engagement is the current buzzword when it comes to employee productivity and company loyalty. Is your staff engaged? Are your employees aware that you would like to have an open dialogue with them? Not encouraging two-way communication tends to result in only the loudest and most negative voices being heard, and top-down communication does not allow for determining whether or not a message has been properly received.
Showing you value what matters to your staff by creating channels for two-way communication is one important way to keep your employees engaged. Valuing the voice of your staff shows that you value your team. Good things happen when your employees feel valued.
Two-way communication doesn’t have to be digital. Find ways to demonstrate that you actually read and utilize feedback left in your comment box. Include employee submissions in your company newsletter. Make the time to not only stop and say hello to your staff but also to thank them and listen to what they might have to say. Good things will happen.
So, what are ways that you get feedback from your staff? Do you seek out input from your employees on a regular basis? What methods do you have in place to encourage employee involvement when it comes to internal communication?
