So, who comments on this stuff?
Unlike the typical website, social media pages are designed for two-way communication. The social networks are a great place to interact with your stakeholders – this interaction can also be described as engaging your audience. Are you being social on your social media page? What can you do to engage your social media audience?
In order to keep your social network relevant to your own organization as well as your audience:
- Define your purpose.
- Define your target audience.
- Be relevant to your purpose AND to your audience.
Knowing your purpose and your target audience enables you to come up with ways to interact that will be relevant to your target audience as well as your own organization. With two-way communication, both sides should benefit. Give your audience a reason to come back. Give your organization the insight provided by that audience.
So, what are you currently doing to encourage others to participate on your social networking page? How are you making sure that your social media presence is creating value for your organization? How did you decide on a target audience? We’d like to hear about your social networking!
