It can be beneficial to your SEO as well as your audience to re-post, re-tweet or link to content away from your own social media page. However, be sure to create a balance between re-posted and original content. By posting original content directly to your own page, you will strengthen your voice as a brand instead of diluting your brand as a habitual re-poster.

Evaluate your social media content from the perspective of your target audience. Post things related to your organization that would most interest your audience. Have any of your employees earned further qualifications, won an award or received a promotion? Do you have any new staff members? You may have just re-launched your website with all new content yesterday, but how do we know that what we are looking at is brand new?

If you have a copyright date on your website that is updated manually, you may find yourself having to update the copyright date on each and every page of your site.

Websites with a content management system (CMS) may automatically update the date on the copyright at the footer of the page. However, since updating the copyright on your website can be done automatically, visitors still have no indication that the content they are viewing is brand new.

What are ways that you can show that your content is up to date?

Regularly update your blog with dated entries.
Include the date on any news items.
Add dated press releases and clippings.
